ABOUT

ModSav is a British DJ and Producer based in Amsterdam. Behind the decks he is well versed in crafting heady sonic experiments and chugging hypnotic grooves. Outright refusing to be defined by a single genre or sound, ModSav is well adept at wielding his deep understanding of the musical landscape to weave intricate pathways that blur the boundaries of genre.

Techno, Breakbeat, House, even Psychedelic Jazz - nothing is off limits as long as the vibe stays cool and the crowd keeps dancing.

Outside of the DJ booth, ModSav is a prolific yet private producer who has been experimenting behind closed doors for quite some time - waiting for the right moment to unleash his craft on the world.

Through ardent self study, he found his way to a hands-on and out-of-the-box approach to production; recording single takes of multi-instrument performances that cut to the very essence of Techno as originally imagined by the genre's founding visionaries.

The resulting sound is gritty, grungy, and brutally honest; reminiscent of the thundering, distorted minimalism which was rife in early UK Techno and championed by renowned artists like Surgeon and Regis

His hotly anticipated debut EP "UNSAVOURY" is expected to stand unique and proud amongst its contemporaries in the techno underground.

In 2025, ModSav is set to release his debut EP “UNSAVOURY”; a raw and personal exploration of the darker edges of club culture. The 4 track EP merges direct, club-ready rhythms with introspective and honest storytelling through a potent blend of twisted ambient textures and thundering techno. The record expresses the artist’s complex relationship with nightlife; the emotional highs, the dark depths, and the creative fire it ignited.

This tension can be felt throughout the EP's gritty yet playful sound as it progresses from the emotional underbelly portrayed in 'sudden_urge_to_scream', through the thundering Birmingham-techno-inspired beats of 'broken_promises' and 'raw_deals', to the finale in 'breaking_point', which - in place of a grand crescendo - crumbles in a chaotic mess of unbridled tension.

This album is a love letter to the experimental and dark sides of electronic music.

The release will be available digitally and on vinyl through ZwartGoud Distribution later this year.
